About El Norte
El Norte is a region of independence and self-sufficiency, a region that is dominated by Hispanic immigrants. El Norte lands include: "Parts of Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California". As well as cities like San Diego, Phoenix, Tucson, Santa Fe, El Paso, San Antonio and Houston.
The region was influenced by Mexican Culture as a result of the Mexican migration prior to the 1990s which was concentrated in Texas and California.

Notorious for being " the saddest chapters in the history of American race relations". This event tells the story of a protest by African American soldiers in response to the discrimination experienced by them. Read more to learn about this important incident.

A small but highly notable battle between the native Americans and the US armed forces. This battle marked the end of the American Indian wars where natives fought for their lands and identity.

In 1980, a horrifying incident took place in the new mexico state prison where inmates acted as a result of the discontent they experienced with the living conditions of the penitentiary. This event is considered to be the most violent prison riot in history.

The numbers of Hispanic populations had rapidly increased within the past 20 years. Multiple factors led to their crossing of borders and immigrating to the US, resulting in Hispanics dominating some parts of the El Norte region. In this page we explore some of the highlights of this phenomenon.
